Thịt Kho Măng

Hello! Welcome back to my blog! Today, I will be cooking beef with bamboo shoots (thịt kho măng in Vietnamese). This is one of the most common dishes in Vietnam. The ingredients are usually eaten with rice, and the sauce is drizzled over the dish. This recipe is very simple and easy to cook and is delicious. Let’s get on to cooking!

  • Garlic
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Soy Sauce
  • Chili Paste

Directions                                                                                                                                                First, cut the pork into bite-sized pieces (in the picture, I left the bones on). Add vegetable oil and the cut pork into the pan. Fry the meat. Add sugar, soy sauce, salt, and pepper into the pan. Fry the ingredients for a little bit longer. In another pan, add sugar and oil at low heat. Fry the mixture until the mixture turns golden brown. Add the mixture into the first pan and mix and fry the contents. Next, add the whole can of coconut soda. Cut the washed bamboo shoots into bite-sized pieces and add them into the pan. Once again, mix and fry. Put the meat and bamboo in bowls on top of steamy rice and drizzle some of the sauce on top. Serve!
